Procrastibaking. My favourite past time.

Well hello there.

It’s that time of year again, dreaded SWOTVAC. So whilst my colleagues bury their heads in their books,  I decided to bake and blog because really what else does one do when faced with a large amount of study and two looming exams?

I keep telling myself as I watch the Food Channel, busy myself in the kitchen and write this blog post; that really I AM studying. Well you see, all of these activities revolve around food so it counts right?

If only my pending exam papers quizzed me on who Beat Bobby Flay, who won Iron Chef America and what was the secret ingredient which I added to my delicious cake today. Well then, I’d be laughing.

I recently purchased Emma Galloway‘s latest Cookbook titled A Year in My Real Food Kitchen. I’d much rather read this than flip through my textbooks. It’s divided seasonally, which we all know I adore. All recipes are gluten free and vegetarian – which is an added bonus as I can cater for pretty much most of my friends/family’s dietary requirements.

Today I made an:

Dark chocolate, pistachio and pear cake

and it was tremendous, if I do say so myself.

What made this taste more divine is that it was shared amongst my closest uni friends who too decided to embark on some procrastibaking. Clearly we are all very similar people which makes for a deliciously entertaining afternoon.

I’m sure it will be the first of many as I continue to ‘study’.

  1. AMEN! That’s the same as me.. except I’ve been making vegan vanilla salted caramel icecream and I keep telling myself that it’s brain food. Haha! ❤
